Ticket giants, Virgin and Sony among Choice’s 2026 Shonky winners

Consumer group Choice has handed its annual Shonky Awards to seven companies. Ticketek and Ticketmaster were called out for dynamic pricing, Virgin Australia for keeping $75 million in expired Covid-era flight credits, and Sony for digital-only PlayStation licences. A Hisense washer-dryer sold as super efficient takes 25 hours on eco settings. Petcover and a pricey protein chip also made the list.
