Editorial policy

This page explains how Daily Yarn stories are written, checked and corrected.

Our own words, always linked

Daily Yarn summarises news reported by other outlets. Each card is written in our own words, is about 60 words long, and names and links the outlets it is based on. We do not reproduce articles. For the full story, follow “read more” to the original publisher.

How we use AI

Cards are drafted with the help of AI from the headlines and summaries that outlets publish. Before a card goes live it is checked against those sources for accuracy, for copied wording and for fair attribution. Any card that involves an allegation, a criminal charge, a case before a court or a private individual is held for a person to review before it is published.

Accuracy and fairness

We report only what our sources report. Allegations are attributed (“police allege”, “the court heard”) and never stated as fact. Cards carry no opinion. Numbers come from the source reporting.

Independence

Nobody pays to be covered on Daily Yarn. If we ever publish sponsored content it will be clearly labelled as sponsored.

Corrections

If we get something wrong we fix it and note the change on the card. See our corrections policy.
